Oh the places you'll an hour?!

There are plenty of exciting reasons to visit the Main Library downtown, but we know that finding parking can sometimes be a problem - especially with kids. We’ve got your back.  While the library is always free, Monday through Friday you can also get one hour of free parking in the Duval St. Parking Garage when you visit Main.

Library Budget Cut Less Than Expected; All Locations Open on Mondays

Thanks to the many library supporters who worked tirelessly on our behalf, the library’s
budget for the new fiscal year will be reduced less than expected. The Jacksonville City
Council voted Tuesday night to restore $1.7 million to our budget. That means:

Library operations to be cut $4.6 million

Mayor Alvin Brown Monday unveiled his budget proposal for the 2012-2013 Fiscal Year which begins Oct. 1. While his proposal shows a $4.3 million reduction in the library’s budget next year as compared to the current year, it will have the same impact on library operations as the $4.66 million cut previously requested because the cuts to staffing and materials remained the same.

The Third Annual Jacksonville Wi$e Money Week

It’s time once again to come and listen to the experts.    Image

Wi$e Money Week is a partnership of more than 50 public and private organizations who pull together one week each year to offer financial education--free of charge and open to the public--with no sales pitches. This year’s workshops and events will be held May 11 – 17.
