Show Your Pride: Celebrate Pride Month With Books And Virtual Events

This month marks the 50th anniversary of Pride Month, but many celebrations are going to look different this year. The Jacksonville Public Library is celebrating their Pride Month programs with two virtual events, Rainbow Storytime: This Day in June and Read the Rainbow: Teen Book Club.  You can also find book lists that contain notable LGBTQ+ reads for all ages. Show your pride and celebrate Pride Month with Jacksonville Public Library!

 

Rainbow Storytime: This Day in June

June 30th at 10AM

Rainbow Storytime

Join us for a special read aloud as we celebrate all types of families! June is National Pride Month and the Jacksonville Public Library children's department will host a virtual storytime featuring library staff reading the book This Day in June by Gayle E. Pitman followed by a rainbow craft. Supplies needed for the craft are a paper plate, scissors, rainbow tissue paper and glue. Join Ms. Kate & Ms. Rebekah to talk LGBT books and characters! We may not be able to meet in person but we can still have fun, make new friends and talk books! Two of the books we will be discussing are History Is All You Left Me by Adam Silvera and A Gentleman's Guide to Vice and Virture by Mackenzie Lee. To sign up for our Teen Zoom Book Club email us here. This event is limited to 12 participants.
