JACKSONVILLE, Fla., Jan. 8, 2018 – The Jacksonville Public Library is pleased to host the 29th Annual Unveiling of the Jacksonville Black History Calendar. For decades the Black History Calendar has served as a reminder to celebrate the achievements of African-Americans year-round. The event is open to the public. Free calendars and light refreshments will be provided.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla., Oct. 25, 2017 — The Brentwood Branch Library reopened its doors Saturday, Oct. 14 following a two month closure to replace carpet, repaint the interior and add six computers. To celebrate the reopening, a grand reopening ceremony is scheduled for Monday, Oct. 30 at 3 p.m. with the Friends of the Brentwood Library’s Fall Back into Brentwood fall festival immediately following.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla., Oct. 12, 2017 — The Brentwood Branch Library will resume normal operations Saturday, Oct. 14 beginning at 10 a.m. following a two month closure to replace carpet, repaint the interior and add six computers. Book drop and customer hold pickup service will also be available when the branch reopens.
Indie Author Day and Local Historical Fiction Headline October

Authors and library locations will vary each month. All author talks are free and open to the public.
Successful Program Makes ‘Tremendous Economic Impact’ on Community
JACKSONVILLE, Fla., Aug. 30, 2017 — Jacksonville Public Library on Sept. 5 will celebrate the graduation of 24 students who have earned high school diplomas and career certificates through Smart Horizons Career Online High School (COHS), an innovative program for adult learners offered at Jacksonville Public Library’s Center for Adult Learning.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla., June 5, 2017 – The Jacksonville Public Library is hosting a Job Fair for young adults age 16 – 24 at the Main Library. Companies such as Target, Starbucks, UF Health Jacksonville, and the City of Jacksonville will be in attendance looking to hire and some will hold on-site interviews. The Job Fair is free and open to the public.
