Brentwood Branch Library to Celebrate Grand Opening With Fall Festival (Oct. 25, 2017)

JACKSONVILLE, Fla., Oct. 25, 2017 — The Brentwood Branch Library reopened its doors Saturday, Oct. 14 following a two month closure to replace carpet, repaint the interior and add six computers. To celebrate the reopening, a grand reopening ceremony is scheduled for Monday, Oct. 30 at 3 p.m. with the Friends of the Brentwood Library’s Fall Back into Brentwood fall festival immediately following.

Main Library to Host More Than 30 Companies for Young Adult Job Fair June 6 (June 5, 2017)

New This Year: Several Companies Will Conduct On-Site Interviews

JACKSONVILLE, Fla., June 5, 2017 – The Jacksonville Public Library is hosting a Job Fair for young adults age 16 – 24 at the Main Library. Companies such as Target, Starbucks, UF Health Jacksonville, and the City of Jacksonville will be in attendance looking to hire and some will hold on-site interviews. The Job Fair is free and open to the public.

Library Board Appoints Interim Director for Jacksonville Public Library (May 22, 2017)

JACKSONVILLE, Fla., May 22, 2017 — The Board of Library Trustees on May 11 voted to appoint Deputy Director for Public Services Jennifer Giltrop to be the interim director of the Jacksonville Public Library, effective July 1, 2017, following the retirement of Director Barbara A. B. Gubbin. Board Chair Ronnie King said Giltrop is the right person to ensure a smooth transition.
