Library Board Selects New Director for Jacksonville Public Library (Dec. 14, 2017)

JACKSONVILLE, Fla., Dec. 14, 2017 — The Board of Library Trustees on Dec. 14 voted to extend the offer of the position of library director of Jacksonville Public Library to Tim Rogers, previous executive director of the Metropolitan Library System in Oklahoma City, OK, at the recommendation of the library director search committee. Rogers has accepted the offer and will begin in the new role on Jan. 29, 2018. Rogers succeeds former Director Barbara A. B. Gubbin who retired from the library June 30, 2017.

Brentwood Branch Library to Celebrate Grand Opening With Fall Festival (Oct. 25, 2017)

JACKSONVILLE, Fla., Oct. 25, 2017 — The Brentwood Branch Library reopened its doors Saturday, Oct. 14 following a two month closure to replace carpet, repaint the interior and add six computers. To celebrate the reopening, a grand reopening ceremony is scheduled for Monday, Oct. 30 at 3 p.m. with the Friends of the Brentwood Library’s Fall Back into Brentwood fall festival immediately following.

Carlo Fassi Appointed to Library Board of Trustees (Oct.17, 2017)

JACKSONVILLE, Fla., Oct. 17, 2017 – Jacksonville Public Library announces that Carlo Fassi has joined the Board of Library Trustees. Fassi was confirmed as a trustee by Jacksonville City Council on Tuesday, Oct. 10.

Grand Reopening Celebration Scheduled Oct. 30 in Conjunction with Friends Fall Festival

JACKSONVILLE, Fla., Oct. 12, 2017 — The Brentwood Branch Library will resume normal operations Saturday, Oct. 14 beginning at 10 a.m. following a two month closure to replace carpet, repaint the interior and add six computers. Book drop and customer hold pickup service will also be available when the branch reopens.
