Invites Public to Launch Party during Downtown Art Walk
JACKSONVILLE, Fla., July 28, 2016 – To better serve customers’ needs, the Jacksonville Public Library has redesigned its website to offer improved mobile responsiveness, site and catalog search options, and a more streamlined appearance. To celebrate the new website, the library will host a launch party during Downtown Art Walk. Everyone is invited.
WHEN: Aug. 3, 2016
6 p.m. – 8 p.m.
WHERE: Main Library
The Lounge @ 303 North (inside the Laura Street entrance)
303 Laura St. N.– 32202
The party will feature live music from Chase Fouraker, food and refreshments, children’s crafts and use of 3-D pens for creating 3-D souvenirs. Guests can also participate in a virtual scavenger hunt for a chance to win an iPad donated by Axis 360, an e-content service provider.
Thousands of customers access the library’s website 24/7 to download e-materials, place holds on items, learn about events and classes and schedule appointments with e-specialists. The comprehensive update is a direct result of customers asking for a more mobile friendly site. The new site will be easier to navigate and will display better on mobile devices.
The website address will remain the same at jaxpubliclibrary.org, however you can catch a sneak peak of the new site at beta.jaxpubliclibrary.org.
The Jacksonville Public Library is committed to making its programs accessible to all persons. If you need special accommodations, please call 630-2665 (TTY 630-1999) at least 72 hours prior to the event.
