What makes a good library great? Without question, it is the support the library receives from private citizens who understand and value the essential role a library plays in the life of the community.
Wendy Warner, a longtime Friend of the Beaches Branch Library and the 2017 Jacksonville Public Library Volunteer of the Year, can often be found in costume at the Beaches Branch Library. Whether it’s the Cat in the Hat event, a Harry Potter program or Comic Con, Wendy is sure to show up dressed for the occasion.

There are plenty of exciting reasons to visit the Main Library downtown, but we know that finding parking can sometimes be a problem - especially with kids. We’ve got your back. Each month we feature a series of books chosen by our fabulous staff. Once a week our literary mavens will be featured on our social media channels. At the end of every month we compile them for you right here; that way you won’t miss a single book! These choices are some of their favorite books and authors or reads they need to share with others.
Last year we started a #JaxBookFace contest, and it's been a lot of fun to see some of your creative entries! We're pretty much in love with your book faces so keep them coming. You could be our next winner!
