Oh, Florida!

"Just when you think it's as weird as it can get, it gets a little weirder."

Author and journalist, Craig Pittman, has spent his career observing, researching, and documenting Florida. He joined us on our podcast to talk about his New York Times Best-Selling book, Oh, Florida!: How America's Weirdest State Influences the Rest of the Country. It's an exploration of our marvelously weird state that proves Florida is both a paradise and a punchline. Listen to the episode of Completely Booked below:

What Makes Us So Weird?

Being a reporter for the Tampa Bay Times, Craig Pittman is an encyclopedia of history, statistics, and wacky stories involving Florida. Ever wonder what makes Florida such a peculiar place? It may have something to do with the fact that we're the only state that has the job title "mermaid" on our government's payroll. Or maybe that we're the only state to have not one, but two native Bigfoot relatives lurking around Florida. Or perhaps it's the fact that we're constantly on the brink of calamity that riles Floridians up. There are many contributing factors, and Craig Pittman does a remarkable job of summarizing them into a hilarious, informative, and all-too relatable snapshot of Florida.
