Due to the pandemic, E-Services will be providing a modified schedule of computer help to our customers. We will not be offering our usual classes and 1-on-1s until it is safe to do so. In the meantime, check out these options for technology help:
1. Free Virtual Classes: We are excited to announce that E-Services will be offering half-hour versions of some of our popular classes live online via Zoom! The first classes to be offered will include job searching online, creating resumes with templates, creating a budget, email and the cloud, and web design using popular website creators. The Jacksonville Public Library's E-Services Department is dedicated to helping users learn and master the technology needed in today's economy. All of our classes are free and open to the public. You can find our classes in the event calendar and on our Computer Classes page at https://www.jaxpubliclibrary.org/events/computer-classes.
2. Call Center: E-Services staff are available from 10am-6pm Monday-Saturday at 255.2665 ext. 3 for phone support on e-resources and other basic tech questions. If you need help with e-resources, have your library card number and PIN handy when you call.
3. E-Services e-mail: If you would rather send an email about your problem, you can send one to email@example.com or use the online form at https://www.jaxpubliclibrary.org/services/e-services. This is a great option if you want to and can send screenshots of your problem, or if you don’t need immediate assistance. When you email us, include your library card number, the specific problem you are having (not “ebooks” but “I have downloaded an ebook through OverDrive but now it won’t open on my device”), and any other information you think is relevant to the issue.
Wondering how to get started with Zoom? We've got a blog post that covers that!
