We're surprised that James Patterson and Janet Evanovich weren't among our top five most checked-out authors this year! Stephen King came in at fourth place this year.
About the top fiction title of 2018, David Baldacci's The Fallen: Amos Decker is a former professional football player turned police detective after a violent helmet-to-helmet collision on the field ends his football career forever. It also leaves him with an improbable side effect—he can never forget anything.
In this fourth installment of the Amos Decker adventures, Decker and his FBI colleague Alex Jamison are in Baronville visiting Alex’s sister and her family. Decker has only been there a few hours when he stumbles on a horrific double murder scene. Now Decker, with his unique memory skill, may be the only one who can crack this bizarre case. However, he learns that his memory may not be as reliable as he once believed.
While it may benefit readers to dig into books 1-3 of the Amos Decker series before cracking The Fallen in order to observe the development of the characters, it's not a necessity. Either way, you can find the first three installments of this series—Memory Man, The Last Mile and The Fix—in our catalog as well.
