Martin Luther and Music: Early Church Hymns

Explore Martin Luther's influence as a hymn writer in reintroducing hymn singing to the Church, his encouragement of musical instruction in education, and his understanding of music as a means of dealing with depression and discouragement. Martin Luther was called "The Nightingale of Wittenberg" and influenced later musicians including Johann Sebastian Bach. Seating is limited to the first 100 people. JPL50 winter1
