PEARLS at the Library

This twice monthly curriculum engages students by providing a broad range of educational enrichment activities that focus on teaching STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math) in a historically and culturally relevant context. Reading Buddies

Reading Buddies is a weekly program that allows school-age students to work one-on-one with a teen volunteer to help boost reading skills such as fluency and comprehension. Once each week, a Big Buddy and a Little Buddy pair to read together. The Big Buddy’s job is to be a mentor, coach and role model to foster the little buddy's love of reading! A love of books is contagious — and maybe even life-changing — for both Buddies.
