PEARLS at the Library

P.O.M.E. Poetry Workshop Series

Product of My Environment (P.O.M.E.) is a 12 poem project that students will construct via free writing and performance workshops throughout the school year. Students will examine the history and cultural impact of the communities they are from as well as document the social and cultural impact they have had and intend to have on their environment. At the end of the workshop series, students will gain experiential knowledge of the copyright and self-publishing process as well as plan and facilitate a book signing/release at the Jacksonville Main Library.

Scout Patch Programs

This badge / patch program will provide Girl Scouts an opportunity to enjoy a variety of activities while earning a fun badge or patch . Most patch programs are available to Girl Scouts of all grade levels, and some will list different requirements to complete the patch, depending on grade level. These programs can extend over multiple troop meetings and will cover a variety of subjects, such as healthy living, STEM, community service, and Appalachian history. Completing patch programs will help troops along their Journey, and may satisfy requirements for certain badges.
