Girls Who Code

Calling 6th grade through 12th-grade girls! Girls Who Code is a national organization that offers clubs to girls interested in computer programming. We will learn front-end web development. Join us to explore coding in a fun and friendly environment!

Computers will be available, but girls are encouraged to bring their own laptops and USB drives.

P.O.M.E. Poetry Workshop Series

Product of My Environment (P.O.M.E.) is a 12 poem project that students will construct via free writing and performance workshops throughout the school year. Students will examine the history and cultural impact of the communities they are from as well as document the social and cultural impact they have had and intend to have on their environment. At the end of the workshop series, students will gain experiential knowledge of the copyright and self-publishing process as well as plan and facilitate a book signing/release at the Jacksonville Main Library.

Help Me Grow, Play, and Learn for Babies

This begins as a lap-sit storytime for children from birth to walking and their caregiver. This storytime will include rhymes, songs, fingerplays, and books to promote language development and positive interactions between parent and child. The storytime then transitions to a sensory experience for babies, toddlers, and their caregivers to promote sensory and social play.
