What to Expect: Jax Book Fest 2018

We're ready for the literary event of the year, are you? Saturday, March 3 the Main Library will host Jacksonville's largest book festival from 10:30 A.M. to 3 P.M.

We want you to be prepared for a full day of literary adventures, here are some tips for getting the most out of your day!

Small business resources - We've got them!

Some might not be aware of the resources the Jacksonville Public Library has available for small businesses and entrepreneurs. The Main Library’s Business Reference Resources section, located on the second floor, contains business directories, marketing and advertising books, business reference books, business periodicals and more. OneSpark, a new online resource for Jacksonville entrepreneur, recently posted an article highlighting the JPL's business resources:

Letter: City residents should decide library funding

Take a look at this letter published in the Florida Times-Union this week, reminding all of us to let our elected officials know we support our libraries. It only takes a minute to let your City Council member and the mayor know how important libraries are to you. To locate your elected officials, simply visit the JaxGIS Neighborhood Search and enter your address.

Libraries helping libraries after Hurricane Sandy

Thanks to a donation by the Friends of the Jacksonville Public Library, Orange Park resident Skot Wilson is helping a school library in his former hometown of Union Beach, NJ, rebuild after Hurricane Sandy with an essential supply item: books.  Check out more details on First Coast News.

Good news: Mayor wants investment in libraries
