GED Graduate Back On Track

Dennis Hoffman’s education was derailed when he quit school to help take care of his teenage sister’s children. Even though he dropped out after failing ninth grade, he never gave up on his dream to continue his education “one day.” That day finally came when Dennis enrolled in GED studies through LEAP—Library Enhanced Access Program—at the library’s Center for Adult Learning (CAL).

How To: Use the Jax Makerspace

The Jacksonville Public Library’s Jax Makerspace is a place for making things, for hands-on opportunities to explore, collaborate and create. A multi-purpose creative space, the Jax Makerspace is located at the Main Library and features the Jax Makerspace Gallery with rotating exhibits that highlight the local arts community.

It’s an easy fix for Sarah Davis, a graduate student from Jacksonville, Florida, studying at Kenyatta University in Nairobi, Kenya. With Jacksonville Public Library’s digital collections—even across the world—she enjoys 24/7 access to e-books and databases simply by logging onto her account from her iPhone and iPad.
