JACKSONVILLE, Fla., April 26, 2016 – KA-POW! The Jacksonville Public Library doubles your fandom fun with not one, but two Comic Cons for all ages on May 7. The 4th Annual Beaches Library Comic Con promises to be bigger and better than ever with additional activities, demonstrations and contests. Willowbranch Branch Library kicks off its inaugural Comic Con with a special appearance by 8-year-old Natalie McGriff, 2015 One Spark winner and author of Moxie McGriff.
From costume contests and graphic artist appearances to games, trivia tournaments, scavenger hunts and more, it’s four hours of free superhero fun at both locations. It’s also free comic book day at Superhero Beach and Superhero Hive comic stores. Beaches library comic con visitors can take free shuttle rides to Superhero Beach comic store to get a free comic. Superhero Hive comic store in Riverside is within walking distance to the Willowbranch library.
Beaches Library Comic Con

- 11:30 a.m. – Fletcher High School band performance in the parking lot Noon – North Florida Jedi Academy performance
- 12:30 p.m. – Cosplay demonstrations by Jay Woodley, a renowned special effects expert
- 1:00 p.m. – Team trivia contest sponsored by Trivia Nation 2:00 p.m. – Judged costume contest for all ages
- All day – Local graphic artists, Batmobile, scavenger hunts, crafts, food trucks and more.

Willowbranch Library Comic Con
WHEN:

- 11:00 a.m. – Eight-year old Natalie McGriff, a 2015 One Spark winner, will present her latest superhero Moxie McGriff adventure, Moxie McGriff Saves the Library.
- 2:00 p.m. – Judged costume contest for all ages
- All day – Local graphic artists, green screen photo booth, 3-D printed keepsakes, scavenger hunts, crafts, board games and more.
