In recognition of Donate Life Month, the City of Jacksonville has partnered with Community Hospice, Donate Life Florida, Jacksonville Transplant Alliance, Katie Caples Foundation, Life Net Health, LifeQuest Organ Recovery Services, Lions Eye Institute for Transplant and Research, and RTI Donor Services to bring programs to the public.
The 4th Annual Donate Life Day event will be held in the City Hall Atrium on April 11 from 11a.m. -1 p.m. A light, complimentary lunch of sandwiches, chips and cookies is available to attendees while visiting the educational tables. Donor family members, recipients and living donors will also be hand to share their stories of hope and answer questions.
Four additional educational and inspirational programs will be held at Jacksonville Public Library locations. The “Life Stories” program includes stories presented by local people whose lives were changed by organ/tissue/eye donation. Learn about the local organizations working to save lives and provide comfort. All programs are free and open to the public.
